Talleres de Educación Familiar

Women’s Crisis Support ~ Defensa de Mujeres in collaboration with Migrant Head Start are pleased to announce our upcoming Family Workshop Series offered to Spanish speaking families residing in the Santa Cruz County. With the focus of promoting healthy families as a means of preventing domestic violence through an 8-week workshop series, which supports families to reduce social isolation, prevent domestic violence and increase knowledge and skills on issues such as:

Cultural knowledge and Pride
Family Well Being
Communication within the family
Setting Limits/ Positive discipline
Prevention of Drugs & Alcohol
Prevention of Child Abuse
Prevention of Domestic Violence
Community Involvement

The 8-week series will be from August 23rd through October 11th, 2007 and will take place at Calabasas Elementary School in Watsonville every THURSDAY from 6:00 – 8:30 PM.

Childcare, dinner and children & youth groups are provided. All services are FREE of charge.

**Priority registration is given to families from the Migrant Head Start program; any family interested should NOT be in a crisis situation and must be able to commit to attending the entire 8-week workshop series.
