Census 2010

Did you know that every 10 years, a census of our population is conducted?
The results determine how federal funds are spent in our community on things like roads, schools and medical services, as well as representation in government.

Meet at River Park, 100 East Front Street

Sunset State Beach
Take West Beach Street past the Red Roof Inn; keep going straight until you reach San Andreas Road; turn right and keep going until you reach Sunset Beach Road (look out for State Park Signs); turn left and keep going until you come to the end of the road.

Struve Slough
Meet at the entrance of the Pajaro Valley High School, 500 Harkins Slough Rd

Palm Beach
Take West Beach Street past the Red Roof Inn; follow West Beach Street approximately two miles westbound until you come to the end of the road.

Come, participate and enjoy a delicious lunch for all volunteers at River Park.
Parking will be free at all cleanup sites.
Cleanup materials will be provided.

National Night Out

National Night Out is an annual event where the community and police unite against crime. On Tuesday, August 7, 2007, the Watsonville Police Department and Neighborhood Services, a division of the Parks and community Services Department, are sponsoring Watsonville’s tenth year of coming out to show its unity against crime.

The goals of National Night Out are to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships, and send a message to criminals that neighborhood sare organized and fighting back.

Operation Recreation

Hello everyone!

“In celebration of July as Parks and Recreation Month, the City of Watsonville Parks and Community Services Department presents “OPERATION RECREATION”. This in an opportunity for local businesses, non-profit groups, families and friends to come out, have fun, win prizes and enjoy recreation. Teams of three participants will compete in several recreation pentathlon activities. Activities include Football Toss, Tricycle Race, Wheel Barrel Obstacle Course, Sack Race and more. Grab two co-workers or friends and sign up today! Event will be held at the City Plaza this Friday, July 27th from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Sign ups available on site or you can download your registration form at http://www.watsonvillerec.com/
