Triangle Speakers 20th Anniversary Celebration and Reunion

Help us celebrate 20 years of amazing work and build momentum for the next 20 years, changing hearts and minds one story at a time! Hors d’oeuvres, wine, and other beverages provided. There will be a short program including a few words from our Board President, Executive Director, and our keynote speaker, Senator Mark Leno, author of the recently enacted FAIR Education Act, requiring the inclusion of the contributions of LGBT people in social studies classes in California’s public schools. Triangle Speakers provides panels of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and ally speakers who work to eliminate fear, prejudice, and hatred against LGBT people, through the simple power of their personal stories, helping ensure that a healthy environment exists for all members of our community in Santa Cruz County. Triangle Speakers is a program of The Diversity Center.

Central Coast Foreclosure Collaborative Workshop

LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND NON PROFIT AGENCIES RESPOND TO FORECLOSURE CRISIS

Foreclosure Event Sunday, August, 28th, 2011

Watsonville, CA – On Sunday, August 28th, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Monterey  County Office of the Agricultural Commissioner at the Agricultural Center Conference Room, 1428 Abbott Street, Salinas, 93901. The Central Coast Foreclosure Collaborative, a working group of city and county agencies, community-based organizations, and community groups, will be hosting an event that will help embattled local homeowners at risk of foreclosure.

The collaborative will bring together a panel of experts as well as representatives from federal, state, and county government. This is a panel with information for homeowners facing foreclosure or who have been through foreclosure who want to know what to expect and what options might be available.

As many residents who are facing foreclosure know, foreclosure is a very complicated and emotionally devastating process. It is difficult to know what is best for a family in the long-run, and people need specific information and useful advice.

Spanish translation will be provided.

This is a free event.
