Celebrate ‘Dia del Niño’ at Plaza Vigil


Here’s a wonderful free event that’s fun for the whole family! The Plaza Vigil Merchants Association will be hosting a special free event to celebrate “Day of the Child/ Dia Del Niño” on Sunday, April 29th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Plaza Vigil located in the heart of downtown Watsonville. “Day of the Child/ Dia Del Niño” will feature an array of fun filled activities for kids of all ages. The event will including a clown, a Folkorico dance group, bounce house, games, prizes, and much more.

Day of the Child/ Dia Del Niño is a very special day that recognizes and pays homage to the importance of children in our society and endorses their well-being. Register to Attend the WCC Resource Fair

There is still time to register to attend the Watsonville Community Connections Resource Fair on April 27 from 9-12 in the courtyard at La Manzana Community Resources. This Resource Fair is intended for organizations that work with families in Watsonville/Pajaro Valley. Directors, managers, supervisors, line staff and volunteers/interns are all encouraged to attend to learn about other agencies and network. There are also still spaces available in the hands-on trainings about the Community Information Database (web-based resource directory hosted by Santa Cruz Public Libraries) and the WCCC Blog. Trainings will be held in the computer lab at La Manzana. Advance registration is required, as there are limited spaces available in each training session.

PV Shelter Mother’s Day Run/Walk

Pajaro Valley Shelter is having its annual Mother’s Day Run/Walk for Shelter on May 13, starting at 7 a.m. at Ramsay Park in Watsonville. This is PV Shelter’s only fundraising event of the year, so come support this great cause!

The Women’s Business Education Loan Program Continues!


Due to the success and popular demand, the Women’s Business Education Loan Program (WBELP) invites all highly motivated women from Monterey County to participate in a free business education program. Participants will have the opportunity to access a unique business education program and a loan to help individuals start a microbusiness or to improve a business that they currently have. We encourage all women who are interested to attend one of our orientations sessions.
WHEN: Tuesday April 10, 2007
TIME: Spanish 5:30-6:30pm
English 7:00-8:00pm.
WHERE: Nuevo Amanecer Apartments
Community Room, Building A

(Note: It is a requirement to be a resident from North Monterey County to participate the program.)
