The Watsonville Community Connections Collaborative (WCCC) is a group of public and private agencies working together to:

  • Improve public services, education, and health and human servicesfor the Watsonville community,
  • Improve the quality of relationships, communication, and working relationshipsamong service providers within the Pajaro Valley; and
  • Create community-wide changeto improve the lives of individuals and families in the Pajaro Valley.

Our Membersinclude representatives from local government, the school district, faith-based organizations and non-profit agencies that serve families in the Pajaro Valley.

WCCC Accomplishments

Members of the WCCC have:

  • Convened its first Community Connections Summit with 100+ service providers and community leaders in the areas of education, social services and government.
  • Helped First 5 Santa Cruz County merge its web-based resource directory (HelpSCC) into the Santa Cruz Public Libraries’ Community Information Database (CID), resulting in one centralized, easily accessible on-line directory of service providers in Santa Cruz County.
  • Established the WCCC Blog (web log) for service providers to communicate with each other about events, resources and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Hosted Resource Fair for organizations serving families in Watsonville.
  • Initiated collaborative efforts to increase accessibility and cultural sensitivity of services for indigenous Oaxacan families by creating the Pajaro Valley Community Meetings. See the Oaxacan Action Group page for more information.
  • Hosted a Resource Fair for service providers.

Meetings

The WCCC meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 9:00 – 10:30 and are held at different commuinty organizations every month. Our meetings are open to community members, business leaders and representatives from public and private service providers.
